Wearable Architecture
This project was a wearable architecture design for a student competition. Each participant was assigned a figure and tasked with creating a design inspired by their cultural background. I was given the figure of the Observer. Drawing from my Syrian heritage, I recalled a story my grandfather shared about Syrian nomads. These nomads wrapped themselves in traditional keffiyeh to shield against sandstorms and harsh breathing conditions in the desert.
Inspired by this tradition, I designed a triple-layered cloak made from a combination of chipboard, window mesh, and keffiyeh fabric. This cloak not only pays homage to my cultural roots but also serves practical purposes: it allows the wearer to remain inconspicuous in public and provides protection from the sun and adverse weather conditions
